When a professional couple in Elsternwick decided to rebuild their old leaky Carport, they decided to add some design features to make it stand apart from the basic construction.

The addition of some twenty “vertical blades” and adjoining timber ceiling bars added distinct individuality to an otherwise simple and featureless construction.

Technically speaking the carport is incredibly strong in its structure. The vertical blades are constructed from 140/45 RH F5 treated pine. The “Colourbond” roof is inter layered with two “Laserlite” 3000 Skylights. The front elevation has TWO 90/90 H4 laminated treated pine posts set side by side in concrete and screwed together. The down pipe is concealed behind the posts and discharges into the storm-water system via a connection under a thin garden strip immediately in front of the two posts.

The owners plan to stain the entire frame in the weeks after completion. Melbourne Carport Builders, Timber Decking Builders, are looking forward to viewing photos of the staining job upon completion.
